To join floridacentral Credit Union, you must meet one of the following eligibility requirements: Through Your Employer Membership is open to the employees of the many businesses we serve. Please visit your Human Resources Department to find out if membership in floridacentral Credit Union is offered to the employees of your company. If so, they will have all of the necessary forms you need to open your account. If they do not offer a credit union, please have them contact us at (813) 879-3333 ext. 7601 for details on offering this valuable benefit. Through our Community Charter If you live or work in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, Manatee, Sarasota, DeSoto, or Charlotte County, you are eligible for membership. Through a relative If you live in the state of Florida and have an immediate relative that is currently a member of floridacentral Credit Union, you are eligible to join. To join, contact us, or visit your local branch. What is required? Every member is required to maintain a savings account with a $5 minimum balance. Once your savings account is established, you can take advantage of all the products and services we offer. If you are interested in opening a checking account, you must make an initial deposit of $25 into that account. If you are joining through your employer, you can deposit the required $5 in your savings account by Payroll Deduction. If you are joining through our Community Charter or as a relative of a current member, you will need to provide us with a copy of a valid State of Florida Driver's License. We will also need a copy of your Social Security card. You will need to deposit $5 to open your savings account and a $25 initial deposit if you want to open a checking account.
