SERE Enterprises, Inc. is owned by Robert M. Eddy (Bob) and Samuel M. Eddy (Sam), father and son. Bob is a certified public accountant with more than 35 years of practice and licensed to practice in Florida and Nebraska. After graduating from the University of Nebraska in 1969, he began his career in public accounting with a national firm of CPAs. In 1976, along with two other CPAs, Bob left the national firm to form a firm in central Nebraska, Dohman, Akerlund and Eddy, LLC (DA&E). Bob was responsible for that firm?s income tax practice as well being in charge of the firm?s health care, construction and telecommunication industries audit and accounting practices. In 2003, with the completed sale of that firm to four employees, Bob established residency here in Bradenton. In addition to providing consulting services to DAE, he began providing income tax and accounting consulting services to a CPA firm in Bradenton in 2003. In early 2008, Sam voiced his desire to acquire a tax and accounting practice if Dad would be willing to join him and thus began the search to acquire an existing practice in the Bradenton area which resulted in the acquisition of this practice. Sam graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2003 with a B.S. in business administration with an emphasis in accounting. He was employed with a publicly traded company in the transportation industry in management positions in Wisconsin and Georgia through July 2008, when he moved to Bradenton. Sam has completed the process of becoming an Enrolled Agent, resulting from a certification process administered by the Internal Revenue Service, which allows him to practice before the IRS. In addition to being involved in the income tax planning and return preparation process, Sam will be responsible for much of client payroll and bookkeeping services as well as office administration and information technology. While providing consulting services to the Bradenton CPA firm previously mentioned, Bob met and worked with Vicky Followell, an Enrolled Agent, with more than 25 years of experience in income tax planning and return preparation, general business planning and bookkeeping and payroll services. Both Sam and Bob feel very fortunate that Vicky has agreed to join the team. Vicky?s experience began in the small business venue of a family business. She has worked in most major industries, applying sound financial and management principles to the company?s success. Her experience led her quite well to the public accounting industry to serve small businesses and the independently employed. Vicky owned a public accounting firm in Bradenton for ten years. She reentered the public accounting market in 2008. She welcomes returning and new clients who would benefit by the whole team approach of financial management and compliance to state and federal tax matters. Vicky secured her Enrolled Agent status in 1993 and has maintained the licensing and continuing education requirements annually. Her B.S. degree in business administration, with tracks in accounting and human resources, serves well in the business consulting and tax environment she enjoys.
