Bank of the Rio Grande, N.A. was originally chartered in April 1985 by Ruidoso Bank Corporation. In April 1990 a group of local businessmen, now the Bank's Board of Directors, formed the holding company named Las Cruces B.R.G. and acquired the stock of Bank of the Rio Grande.From its inception, the Bank operated its main office in Las Cruces from a facility located at 411 N. Downtown Mall, the historical business center of the community. In March 1991 we added a full service branch at the corner of Telshor Blvd. and University Avenue in southeast Las Cruces to better serve our customers in the proximity of New Mexico State University & Memorial Medical Center.Strong growth and a desire to continue providing our customers with the highest level of service led to the construction of a new Main Office that opened in April 2003 at 421 N. Water Street adjacent to the Downtown Mall. This decision reflected the Board's recognition of the Bank's commitment to the development and revitalization of Las Cruces' Downtown community.The rapid development of Las Cruces' northeast area, with its access to Sonoma Ranch and White Sands Missle Range, has led to the construction of our 3rd Las Cruces Banking Center that opened July 2008 at 3500 Northrise Drive located at the corner of Northrise and Rinconada Blvd.Bank of the Rio Grande continues to be a locally owned and operated full service Bank with total assets now in excess of $100 million. We believe our strong growth is directly related to the Bank's philosophy of providing a "Hometown Attitude" that centers around the idea of knowing our customers and treating them as valuable contributors to the community!
