Children who have been assessed are given a specifically designed series of lessons to help them learn and improve their knowledge understanding and related skills. Lessons take the form of a short direct instruction, a variety of tasks presented both on computers and traditional paper-based methods. They each receive a directed teaching session followed up by a set of tasks based on the teaching . The exercises are varied, short lived, and increasingly challenging as they learn to cope with the work. Students benefit from instant feedback on each task, they have opportunity to discuss their work with the tutor and receive homework based on their study, to drive in the newly acquired skills, knowledge and understanding.
