James Dykes Funeral Service was established in 1961 by James Dykes who came from a varied working background, most predominantly as a coal merchant.
He retired in 1998 and passed away in 1999. George Collins, his second cousin, began working at the funeral home in 1984 and has continued to carry the good name of James Dykes Funeral Service through Newmilns and beyond.
