Omaha State Bank was founded in 1972, in what was then considered the western fringes of the city. The bank first operated out of a temporary trailer surrounded by cornfields, eventually moving into our main bank location at 120th & West Center. At that time, the bank was considered to be an anchor for further western expansion and as Omaha grew west, the bank grew.In 1988, an ownership group led by Michael L. Dahir acquired Omaha State Bank and began the steps to develop Omaha State Bank into the community bank it is today. The continued success we have experienced since that time has proven the wisdom of developing a branch network in the growth corridors of west Omaha.A prominent Omaha family purchased a controlling interest in the bank in December 2004, thus assuring its continued local ownership. Dahir retained a significant ownership interest and remains Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer.
