Established in 1895
The Stokers’ story starts in the late 19th century when in 1895 Alfred Stoker established a business selling fabric and millinery in the thriving market town of Ormskirk. The business progressed into selling carpets and floor coverings and as its reputation for quality and service grew so too did Stokers as they extended into fine furniture. In 1950 with the business expanding Stokers acquired the former girls’ school in Derby Street. It is from this beautiful old building Stokers continue to sell quality fine furnishings to this day.
