You are eligible for membership if you live or work in Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin or Berkshire counties. Once you become a credit union member, invite your family members to join, too! They are eligible based on your membership, no matter where they live or work. How to Join Freedom CU You can join the credit union in one of three easy ways: Sign up in person during Credit Union business hours. If you own an area business, we will visit your office and open accounts right on site. Request your forms through the mail by calling us at 800-821-0160. One of our Member Service Representatives will be happy to send you out information and answer any questions. To join, you must make a minimum $25 deposit to a Share Savings Account. This account is the core of your credit union relationship and the $25 remains on deposit at all times. While a NOW Checking Account is not required, combining free checking with your savings account will allow you to take full advantage of Freedom Credit Union's benefits. NOW accounts can be opened with a minimum deposit of just $15.
