Built in 1742, the hotel has had a number of uses before being sympathetically converted to a luxury family run hotel. Previously The Ely House has used as a private girls school and many of the original features can still be seen including the hooks from the old school gym. The hotel has undergone a programme of refurbishment and has been rewarded with the highest grading of any hotel in Wolverhampton with the AA, and a listing in the Good Hotel Guide. Most rooms have seperate modem points. All the beds are larger than standard and even our single rooms have three quarter double beds. All the rooms also have colour televisions and video machines, with a large selection of over 150 films for complimentary use. We also have blank tapes in all rooms to allow for the recording of your favourite programmes, we will also tape them for you if you are going to be late.
