I had smoked lots of blends that carry the name of Hoyo de Monterrey; blends as Epicure Especial Tubos, Petit Robusto, Short Hoyo Piramides or Hoyo Coronas. However, there was one blend that carries the name of this brand that impressed me the most, respectively Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No 2 . Review of Hoyo de Monterrey No 2 It is a short cigar measuring only 124 mm and having a ring gauge of 50. This means that it is a Robusto cigar. It is a very beautiful stick, dark- brown, with a lot of oiliness, a silky texture and only a couple of veins. The construction of this stick is remarkable well done. The draw was easy and the cigar burnt slowly and without requiring corrections.
