Su sigla significa Ente Mixto de Promoción Turística, y nuclea a todos los actores de la actividad privada y al Estado municipal. El directorio del EMPROTUR representa a todas las actividades vinculadas al turismo y a todos los vecinos a través de representantes del Ejecutivo y el Concejo Municipal. Fue puesto en marcha hace más de dos décadas y la misma ciudad fue la que entonces se impuso una tasa para utilizar exclusivamente en la promoción del destino turístico. Esa herramienta a lo largo del tiempo se fue perfeccionando y es hoy la que permite a la ciudad ejecutar profesionalmente los planes que todos los sectores definen por consenso cada año.EMPROTUR se encarga durante todo el año de promocionar a Bariloche en todos los lugares donde un potencial turista busca información.
