Evoker is an award winning physio clinic located both in Barangaroo, & Sydney city, corner of Martin Place & Pitt Street. Evoker's services include sports physio, neck pain & headache physio, low back pain physiotherapy, reformer Pilates, bike fit, workplace (& home office) ergonomic assessments, women's health assessment & treatment, AlterG (anti-gravity treadmill) running, blood flow restriction therapy (BFR - Delfi), dry needling, deep tissue massage, & reformer Pilates classes. The rest of the group are simply great at wrapping their arms around you & helping you on your journey to your physical best, your 110%. It doesn’t matter if your problem is a super complex low back pain, or the more ‘basic’ ankle sprain, if physiotherapy can help you, rest assured – this team of elite, caring professionals will help you. At Evoker Sydney CBD, our physios will commonly see lots of neck & back pain, sports injuries, strains, sprains & muscle tears. We get a lot of referrals from doctors & surgeons to work with both pre op & post-operative patients (think ACL reconstructions, total knee replacements, hip replacements, rotator cuff tendon repairs, & lumbar discectomies). We are often called upon for a 2nd opinion on chronic low back pain, & chronic joint pains & stiffness. Dentists also often refer patients with TMJ (jaw) pain to us. We don’t see these often, but it is a unique area that we love to treat, & an area of the body that we have great success in. We are extremely proud to have created our own dedicated ACL reconstruction rehabilitation program, called Awaken. Awaken (your ACL) brings together the absolute best of our elite sporting physiotherapy experiences. We begin with regimented & structured pain & inflammation ‘down’ modalities like Game Ready (world’s best ice & compression). We follow this with our superior manual therapy (or ‘hands on’) treatment to get your knee moving freely again. You will then be ready to become best friends with BFR. Blood Flow Restriction therapy (direct from the NFL) will supercharge your strength gains, & now (with your new strength) you’ll be ready to spend some time with our ‘strength & care’ physio on the gym floor. This is game changing work, & you will start to get those functional movements happening again. You will once again ‘learn to load’ this knee. Anti-gravity treadmill walking & running (run at 60, 70 or 80% of your body weight) shortly follows on the Alter G. Once you’re running at 80-90% of your body weight, we will begin working into your sport specific skills & drills. We pack an extraordinary amount of work into this 9 month process, & we are thrilled with the results that we are producing here in Awaken. We do a lot of work with the running communities in the wider Sydney region, Barangaroo & Sydney CBD. These runners rarely need surgery, but they often present with a vast variety of running pains, & overuse injuries. We have a large ultramarathon following here at Evoker, & these runners have given the Alter G a workout! These runners will present with overuse injuries like: muscle & tendon strains & tears (patella tendinopathy, shin splints, Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, hamstrings origin tendinopathy, greater trochanteric bursitis). The list goes on. We love to work with the determination of a runner. Evoker’s brilliant bike fit service in Sydney CBD & Barangaroo has also organically grown a large cycling following for us. As a result, we happily treat many cycling pains. ITB friction syndrome is a common one, & yes – our ITB rollers get a smashing. Then we have the more acute injuries like ligament tears of the knee & ankle, & shoulder dislocations. The list is endless, but we love our job. Although we are based in the heart of Sydney city, or Sydney CBD, & Barangaroo, we have many clients that travel to us. Patients have been known to travel to Evoker from overseas & interstate. However, the vast majority of our patients come from the inner city, & from suburbs such as Barangaroo, Millers Point, Walsh Bay, Pyrmont, The Rocks, Circular Quay & Darling Harbour.
