Sanitär- und Heizungsgroßhandel eGDas Unternehmen blickt auf eine mittlerweile mehr als 70jährige Historie zurück und wurde 1948 als Wirtschaftsgenossenschaft gegründet. Später erfolgte eine Weiterführung als Einkaufs- und Liefergenossenschaft. Der Firmensitz ist seit etwa 40 Jahren in Berlin-Lichtenberg.
Knapp 300 Handwerksmeister waren damals Mitglied der Einkaufs- und Liefergenossenschaft. Im Zuge der "Umgestaltung der Wirtschaft" in der ehemaligen DDR schlossen sich eine Vielzahl von Handwerksbetrieben zur Produktionsgenossenschaft zusammen, sodass die Einkaufs- und Liefergenossenschaft nicht mehr rentabel arbeiten konnte. Aus diesem Grunde wurde sie 1960 in eine Arbeitsgemeinschaft der Produktionsgenossenschaften des Klempner-, Installateur- und Heizungsbauerhandwerks (AGP) umgewandelt.
