Die Kirche liegt mit der Altar – und Kanzelseite an der unteren Straßenseite des Ortes mit einem malerischen Blick auf das Saaletal. Die kleine Chorturmkirche stammt aus dem 15. Jahrhundert. Die Inschrift der alten Glocke weist auf das Jahr 1484 hin. Im Jahre 1798 wurde sie neu aufgebaut. Ein großer Brand, der nahezu das ganze Dorf vernichtete, hatte auch den Vorgängerbau nicht verschont. Auf den Resten wurde die neue Kirche errichtet. 1860 wurde sie umfassend renoviert. Im Innenraum befinden sich zweigeschossige Emporen mit marmorierter Balusterbrüstung und ein schmaler einfacher Kanzelaltar aus dem 18. Jahrhundert.In den letzten Jahren konnte der Altarraum erneuert werden. Dabei wurde ein Butzenfenster wieder entdeckt, das lange Z
