Il Salumificio TRASCINELLI PIETRO S.R.L. si trova a Basilicanova, a pochi chilometri da Parma, città assai nota per essere la culla di uno dei prodotti italiani DOP più famosi a livello mondiale: il Prosciutto di Parma. Lazienda è nata nel 1977 per iniziativa di Pietro Trascinelli che ancora oggi ne è alla guida. Grazie alla sua esperienza, maturata in anni di lavoro, Pietro è riuscito a fondare lAzienda accanto alla vecchia casa di famiglia, convinto delle potenzialità del suo prodotto.Il Salumificio inizialmente si occupava di produzione e stagionatura di Prosciutti crudi. Subito lAzienda ha acquisito il marchio del Consorzio di Tutela del Prosciutto di Parma DOP, a riprova della qualità dei suoi prodotti. Il 1990 è stato lanno della svolta dal punto di vista dellattività: terminata la produzione di Prosciutti di Parma, il Salumificio ha iniziato a dedicarsi alla sola stagionatura e quindi al commercio di Prosciutti crudi ed ha iniziato l'attività di selezionatura e confezionamento di preparati per lindustria alimentare, in particolare i rifili di prosciutto crudo e altri salumi.
Dal maggio 2009 lattività è stata trasferita nella nuova sede in località Piazza di Basilicanova: si tratta di un moderno stabilimento situato su via Traversetolo, dove vengono svolte le attività di commercializzazione all'ingrosso del Prosciutto di Parma e nazionale, nonché laccurata selezione di una vasta gamma di preparati a base di carne e a base di latte destinati all'industria di trasformazione.
