The entire procedure - from my first contact with reception, through to the follow up call after the surgery - was thorough, efficient and personal. Wisdom Teeth - Wisdom teeth are trouble. It is not unusual for these teeth to become "stuck", wedged in. Being the last teeth to come through into the mouth, often there is not enough room for them, causing a number of problems.? Implants - a dental implant is a small titanium screw that serves as the replacement for the root portion of a missing natural tooth, used as a solution for replacing single or multiple missing teeth.? Anaesthesia - surgery will usually be performed under local anaesthetic with intravenous sedation or general anaesthesia.? TMJ Disorders - the Temporomandibular Joint allows your mouth to open and close and move from side to side when chewing. Some people suffer from disorders affecting one or both TMJs, muscles and surrounding tissues, often causing pain and restricted jaw function.? Galileos X-ray Machine - Oral Surgery Associates is the first Dental Practice in Auckland to have the Sirona, Galileos, 3D, Cone Beam Xray machine. Galileos sets new standards by using much less radiation than conventional CT x-rays. This machine has the ability to produce a 3 dimensional picture of the patient's teeth and jaws, which benefits patients as the oral surgeon is able to see and diagnose conditions more accurately and before they become a real problem."If it had not been for Neil's intervention in January of this year our son Cameron would have been left with permanent damage to his jaw.
