Founded by Dr. Lydia Aznar-Alfonso, the museum has a remarkable collection including neolithic artificats, liturgical pieces, ancient burial coffins and grave furnitures, and excavated gold jewelries. Also in her collections are 18th century primitive religious paintings, ethnographic collection, and vintage books. The Southwestern Universiy Museum showcases the cultural heritage of Cebu.
