The award winning Adanta African dancers are a cultural organisation passionate about the preservation, education, and appreciation of traditional African music, dance, theatre, and culture.
The dance group creates work aimed especially at enabling the audience to experience the beauty and energy that African dance can generate. Our programs have widespread workshop elements culminating into site specific events; these can be performed in unusual spaces, environments and high-profile theatres. The size of the troupe can also be altered to suit the specific requirements of event organizers.
Adanta dancers vision is to explore and express movement ideas through dance, which reflects their African roots, society and way of life. Adanta dance's philosophy is to create innovative dance routines by using sources embedded in traditional African culture and to communicate the diversity of dance vocabulary within the continent to its wide range of audiences.

Adanta African Dance Group performs on invitation, both locally and abroad. Throughout the year, Adanta sets up workshops within the inner and outer London areas. In fact, Adanta have made many television appearances both in the UK and the UAE, including appearances on Channel 4's "Paul O'Grady Show", "Stealing Lives" (feature film for Channel 4's), OBE, BEN TV and other satellite channels. The company has also enjoyed publicity from the Times Newspaper, The Guardian, African Voice and numerous local newspapers and magazines.
Adanta, through its community work, has used dance, music and drama workshops to engage people in the inner cities of London both in schools and in community settings. The activities for the community program range from using music and dance to create pathway to employment, healthy lifestyle program for adults, healthy lifestyle program (outreach) for over-60s, using performing arts as a way of diverting young people from criminal activities, student enrichment programs for schools, colleges, and universities.
