my experience was not so good. i was in search fore a maltese and her ad at the puppies site says “mom is purebred maltese dad is akc registered maltese”. i like to dna health test my dogs and as soon as i told her that, she informed me she would not sell me a dog as she would not risk her reputation to a dna test. i have never been discouraged by a reputable breeder from doing dna health testing before. so that came to quite the surprise! i gave her 2 stars because of her honesty and saving me from wasting my money on another non purebred dog. she said to me “if they look like a maltese i buy a maltese so it’s possible they are not a maltese”. had she not been so hostile i may have given her better stars. but she was very hostile and basically hung up on me and was not willing to talk since she had made up her mind she would sell to me. i would think if she had more confidence in her dogs she would be more than happy and actually glad to hear i care about my animals enough to do a dna health test but she as much as told me i was wasting my time and money. no other breeder has ever told me that. fair warning though, she may say in her ads they are purebred but she won’t allow you to buy if you dna which says to me they are not. good luck
