At Rising Phoenix Martial Arts, you will have the opportunity to learn one of the world’s oldest martial arts. Though the art is renowned for its health benefits, Tai Chi Ch'uan is far more than physical exercise. Literally translated as “supreme ultimate fist”, Tai Chi Ch'uan has had a major impact on nearly every martial art that has come after it. Rising Phoenix Martial Arts in Menomonie borrows heavily from these arts to give its students a well-rounded education in the life protection arts before they struggle with the deeper questions of Tai Chi Ch'uan.
At Rising Phoenix Martial Arts, we teach warriorship, not mere combatives. This means that training is holistic in nature, designed to cultivate character and self-discipline while increasing combat skill. A gentle, respectful nature is a MUST! Enrollment is currently open to students aged 7-13 for our Young Warriors class, and 14+ for adults anywhere in Dunn County.

Sensei Chris first started training in martial arts at age 10 and later began teaching a group of students. With our move to Downtown Menomonie in 2017, we’ve been able to welcome people from all walks of life to join us.
