Pictured here was the group that gathered for a "Shofaron," a study session dedicated to the study of Shofar, the Jewish sacred horn. Over the years, I have become an enthusiast and scholar of the shofar, particularly about how to sound it beautifully and accurately. I am proud to have coined this term Shofaron, never before used.
My career began as a singer of classical music, but all the while was drawn to the psychological, the sacred, the spiritual. Becoming a Cantor in midlife, I served several congregations, but, by choice, no longer do so. For five years, my employment was a Spiritual Support Counselor both at a major NYC rehab and nursing home facility, where I led drum circles. Also, I worked a few years in a hospice. Now, I lead classical music and arts programs for seniors, perform weddings and Jewish worship services, and something else quite unusual, described below...
When I am not singing, leading music appreciation classes for seniors, or performing cantorial duties, I enjoy many activities, including cooking, working out, drum circles, and playing pocket billiards, so much so that I am now a Recognized Instructor with the Professional Billiard Instructors Association.
