Flex Foot and Ankle is a minority, woman-owned podiatry practice led by fellowship-trained E. Giannin Perez, DPM, FACFAS. Dr. Perez has been practicing for more than 10 years and is one of 15 podiatrists in New York state that holds the Advanced Ankle license. She has now opened her private practice in Midtown Manhattan and dedicates her time to providing the best care possible to her patients of all ages. Proudly serving New York City / Metro area patients enjoy visiting Flex Foot and Ankle, where they leave feeling well-informed and involved in their treatment plan.

During college, Dr. Perez was a Division I tennis player and became a patient herself undergoing bunion surgery on both her feet, which is how she was introduced to the field of podiatry.

She later pursued her doctoral degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in Manhattan, New York. She stayed at the college to complete her three-year residency training in all aspects of foot and ankle medicine and surgery.

After residency, she completed a one-year fellowship focused on trauma of the foot and ankle, reconstruction, sports medicine and pediatrics.

At Flex Foot and Ankle, Dr. Perez will discuss your pathology and formulate a treatment plan. Conservative treatment is always discussed and encouraged before any surgical intervention. When surgery is necessary, Dr. Perez excels in the latest surgical techniques led by evidence-based medicine. Conservative treatment might include physical therapy, injections (platelet-rich plasma, steroids, etc.), taping/ strapping, and custom-made orthotics to relieve foot and ankle pain and prevent further injury.

Regardless of the modality, she will get you back on your feet again as quickly as possible.

Flex Foot and Ankle will provide a wide range of treatments in adults and children with an emphasis on sports medicine. Adult patients regularly visit the practice to seek care for foot and ankle pain, Achilles tendinitis, joint pain, arthritis, bunions, hammertoes, flat feet, stress fracture, heel pain, ligament sprains, and tendonitis. In children, common pathologies include ingrown toenails, warts, flat feet, heel pain/apophysitis, toe walking, and any foot and ankle pain.

Dr. Perez is an athlete and she enjoys running marathons, Ashtanga yoga, playing tennis, swimming and salsa dancing (she’s a performer and team member of Tabeni de Yamulee). She understands the athlete's need to get back to their beloved sport. She also enjoys spending quality time with her husband and son.

Dr. Perez is Bilingual in English and Spanish. She was born in Lima, Peru, and Spanish is her native language. She strives to cater to the Spanish-speaking community of New York City.
