Philips Respironics InnoSpire Essence Compressor Nebulizer System Philips Home Nebulizer - Warnings Some warning you should remember before using the compressor nebulizer are: ● Philips InnoSpire Essence Nebulizer should be used for aerosol therapy as a compressor nebulizer system. The manufacturer will not be responsible for any damage caused by inappropriate use or while installing the machine electrically, if the safety rules are not obeyed. ● The product should be used in a dirt-free, dust-free, pet hair free environment. ● The device should not be operated in the presence of anything flammable, including nitrous oxide or oxygen. ● A prescription should be followed when using this product. ● When the machine is in use it is normal to feel warm. ● Always attach the filter to the device before use. ● Do not operate the device with any adapter, or using an extension cord. ● When the device is not in use do not plug it in. ● Contact Philips if the power cord is damaged or if you need to replace it. ● After unplugging the device, it should be cleaned and the filter should be replaced. Philips Home Nebulizer - Maintenance After each treatment the nosepiece and the nebulizer should be washed with liquid soap and water and then sterilized by boiling in water for 10 minutes or in an airtight pot at 121°C. Clean the mouthpiece and the mask with disinfectant. Dry all parts of the nebulizer with a clean cloth. After cleaning and drying let the compressor run for 5 to 10 minutes before using. The nebulizer should be changed if it is inactive for a long period of time or when it gets clogged by dust, dry medications, etc. With regular use the nebulizer should be replaced every 6 months. After about 500 hours of use the filter should be replaced, but this should be done sooner if it gets dirty, wet, brown or gray. The filter holder should be opened to replace the old filter with the new filter. Don’t reuse or clean the filter. Philips Home Nebulizer - Troubleshooting When the device does not turn on, check to see if the plug fits correctly in a power outlet. Also make sure you have not hit a user limit of 30 minutes On. The device then makes you wait 30 minutes (turned OFF) before reusing the device. If the compressor is not nebulizing or the nebulization is very pale then check that the air tube is tightly fitted with the nebulizer and the main unit, make sure that the nebulizer is not overfull(max. 6ml) or empty with medication and also see that the nozzle of the nebulizer is not obstructed and the baffle is tucked perfectly.
