Every tennis enthusiast knows that playing on a red clay court has some specific advantages; as the softest material used to construct tennis courts, players who frequently practice on red clay learn to expertly construct points, which helps them adapt their play to a variety of court types.

The Oscar Hijuelos Red Clay Courts in Riverside Park are managed by Riverside Clay Tennis Associationâ€”a dedicated non-profit volunteer organizationâ€”in association with the Riverside Park Conservancy. In addition to hosting a variety of low-cost youth tennis programs and tennis lessons for adults, the courts are also available for private reservation for a small fee.
